Job Title: Power BI Developer

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to join our data visualization and analytics team. As a Power BI Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive and insightful data visualizations, reports, and dashboards that provide valuable insights to our stakeholders. Your expertise in data visualization and your proficiency in Power BI will play a pivotal role in transforming complex data into actionable business intelligence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Data Visualization: Collaborate with business analysts and data engineers to understand data requirements and translate them into effective visualizations and reports using Power BI.
  2. Dashboard Development: Design and build interactive and user-friendly dashboards that display key performance indicators (KPIs), trends, and insights, enabling data-driven decision-making.
  3. Data Modeling: Create and optimize data models within Power BI, ensuring efficient data storage, relationships, and calculations to support accurate and responsive visualizations.
  4. Report Development: Develop and maintain a variety of reports, including standard and ad-hoc reports, drill-through reports, and paginated reports, catering to different business needs.
  5. Data Integration: Integrate data from multiple sources into Power BI, including relational databases, data warehouses, APIs, and flat files, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  6. Performance Optimization: Optimize Power BI reports and dashboards for improved performance, responsiveness, and user experience.
  7. Data Exploration: Explore and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights, and communicate findings effectively through compelling visualizations.
  8. User Training: Provide training and support to end users on how to use Power BI to access and interact with data visualizations, empowering them to extract valuable insights.
  9. Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including data definitions, report specifications, and design guidelines, to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain consistency.
  10. Collaboration: Work closely with data stakeholders, analysts, and business users to gather requirements, validate visualizations, and refine reports based on feedback.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in data visualization and Power BI development.
  • Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power Query, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), and Power BI Service.
  • Strong understanding of data visualization best practices, dashboard design, and user experience principles.
  • Experience with data preparation, transformation, and integration using Power Query.
  • Knowledge of data modeling concepts and familiarity with database systems.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into actionable insights.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and data security considerations.
  • Experience with other data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, QlikView) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python) is an advantage.
  • Experience with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
