Packaging Technology Specialist 

     

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

  • Lead the development of innovative and functional packaging designs for new and existing products, ensuring that all packaging meets regulatory, safety and quality standards for the market in which the company operates.
  • Conduct testing and validation of packaging materials and designs to ensure they meet performance specifications.
  • Manage the packaging design process from concept to commercialization, ensuring that all designs are cost effective, manufacturable and sustainable.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee packaging development projects, ensuring they completed on time, within scope and budget.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to manage timelines, budgets, deliverables and issues related to packaging material.
  • Selection of appropriate packaging material based on product requirement, sustainability, goals and cost effectiveness.
  • Build and maintain relationships with packaging suppliers and vendors to ensure quality and delivery standard.
  • Deliver the development /optimization of sustainable packaging solution in alignment with company strategy.
  • Creation and control of PM Specifications, keylines, test methods, SOPs, guidelines, and protocols to ensure adherence of Packaging quality standards across all the manufacturing locations.
  • Conducting Packaging machine qualification (PQ) & Packaging validation (PV) for all packaging projects. Approval of design artwork, supplier's JPEG, Print proofs and shade cards.
  • Conducting comprehensive market sample analysis to identify counterfeit products and report generation.
  • Inspection and testing of incoming packaging material and maintain result/decision in SAP
  • Application of OS3 in PMS creation and correction, PGS creation, neutral material code and reference code creation. Creation of PGS labels: M, N & P basis product.
  • Application of MM4C in attaching product wise packaging concept.
  • Support units (HMN And Sil +BD) & tolling squad in their needs to run daily packaging activities, enabling them to execute daily production schedule to deliver the best product and customer experience.
  • New Product Registration and pack endorsement through validation of PM MOC as per product UVP, development of manner of packaging considering legal guidelines and manufacturing site, filling trial samples for quality evaluation, TWT and stability studies. Initiation of UN certificate application.
  • Technical support to registration on queries raised by CIB.
  • Lead NPD's / EPD's / Promo projects for Crop science portfolio.
  • Play instrumental role in streamlining packaging specs format & Data along with quality.
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify emerging trends in packaging & sustainability, informing data-driven decision-making.
  • Provide packaging input for artwork development & print reproduction.
  • Vendor development and technical evaluation for new & supply de-risking projects.
  • Close connection with CFT's on and off site, supporting them to ensure seamless completion of packaging activities.
  • Counterfeit market sample analysis and report generation.

WHO YOU ARE:

Required Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of packaging materials, processes and sustainability practices.
    • Experience in development procedures/protocols along with Legal / Regulatory, market and Quality requirements 
    • VACC behavior & DSO mindset
    • Knowledge of BIS standards & NABL
    • Knowledge of local regulations (for example, Insecticide Act) and standard global packaging norms.
    • Strong communication in Hindi and English

Education:

    • Full Time Post Graduate Diploma in Packaging technology from IIP or equivalent institute (SIES)
    • Graduate in Chemical Disciplene

Experience:

    • 5 + Years of experience in Packaging development, Packaging material optimization project & leadership skills
