Role descriptionJob Descriptions: Solution Architect
Skill: Looking for Solution Architect with exp in AWS Cloud, Data Analytics and Financial domain(Added as an advantage).
- End-to-End Architecture Breadth
- Cloud & SaaS Solution Design (AWS Focus)-Core hands-on experience in AWS cloud infra-architecture, especially as part of Data Platforms. SaaS Adoption, AWS cloud migration
- Domain & Leadership Fit(Asset/Financial/Banking)-Experience in Asset Management. Must be knowing various data elements, applications such as Aladdin, MarkitEDM, etc.
- Data Architecture & Analytics(PBI, ETL, etc)-Core hands-on experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Data Governance, Data Management, Data Analytics
- Must have worked as Solution Architect in the banking industry
- Must have core development experience n the past. - Started as developer to lead to architect.
- Must be able to define solutions, design architecture and drive the project technically.
Role Purpose
The purpose of the Solution Architect role is to:
- Define end-to-end solutions for IT change
- Create designs that are fit for purpose from a functional, non-functional, service, and security point of view
- Deliver solutions that progress the overall architecture journey and are aligned to Our customer s IT Strategy
- Comply with standards, design approaches and governance
Accountabilities
Nature of Work
- Solutions and Assurance o Create solutions and design for projects to meet Our customer s standards for technology and ensure they meet our ambitions for availability, security, resilience and performance
- Produce design options with associated costs, benefits and risks to enable investment decisions
- Work with product owners, architects, platform teams and other project colleagues to agree trade-offs between, long-term and short term goals
- Responsible for the integrity of the end-to-end solution across Platforms, including transition states used to achieve the target state
- Shape and estimate IT initiatives and feature team sprints, ensuring that component parts deliver against business outcomes
- Technical Leadership o Provide leadership on key designs to ensure the long term strategic goals of Our customer IT are met as well as short term project needs
- Ensure design artefacts are produced to support stakeholder group for service, security, architecture and engineering
- Peer review the design artefacts of others
- Provide coaching, mentoring and training to less experienced team members as required
- Design Community membership o Contribute to the Solution Architecture community across Our customer Group leading on or participating in initiatives to improve Our customer s approach to design
- Develop your technical skills to support Our customer s need to understand and exploit emerging technology trends
Risk & Controls
- Identify, own and manage the specific key risks and/or IT controls and BP standards that you are identified as the owner and/or nominee for on iCARE or Archer o Ensure that issues and actions associated to controls / risks are remediated in a timely manner
- Maintain appropriate records on iCARE or Archer
- Ensure that controls are sufficiently well designed and operating effectively to keep the risks that they mitigate within Our customer's tolerance level
- Report and escalate the status of the relevant risks, controls and standards as appropriate

- Accountable for working within policy and guidelines, applying technical knowledge and expertise and prioritising own use of time
Problem Solving
- The essence of the role is project- based problem solving.
- Accountable for solving problems and dealing with difficulties in line with policy, process and other guidelines applying technical knowledge and expertise
- Depending on the nature of the specific role, problems can range from repetitive daily issues to complex technical problems requiring significant expertise

- Recommend design solutions or ideas in response to challenges faced by your project or feature team in line with policy, process and other guidelines.
- Accountable for recommending change based on expert know how and analysis

Internal collaboration
o Build effective working relationships with: o Project managers and others on projects
o Platform Managers and Specialist
o Platform Architects and Designers
External interaction
- Maintain liaison with suppliers and the relevant sources of technology to ensure the specialist knowledge is kept up to date.
Timeframe
- Role holder will be assigned to projects and initiatives of varying size and complexity, with typical timeframes ranging from 3-18 months
- Longest target completion time of tasks likely to be 3 months

Capabilities
- Excellent design skills
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end project lifecycle methodologies (mainly agile).
- Strong technical experience. This maybe broad experience with the ability to apply it across a variety of customer and business scenarios; or strong domain specialisms to maximise the benefit of technology in key areas e.g. Infrastructure, Business Intelligence, Pensions.
- The role holder must care about technology and how to exploit it for the benefit of our customers.
- Financial acumen to support development of business cases and to inform key design decisions.
- Ability to balance long-term direction and necessary short-term goals.
