Lead Architect HPC & Cloud Solutions (Senior Architect)

Job Description

We are seeking a Lead Architect with deep expertise in High Performance Computing (HPC) and cloud architecture to design, migrate, and optimize compute-intensive workloads on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and hybrid/multi-cloud platforms.

Qualifications

Preferred:

  • OCI Architect Associate or Professional Certification
  • Experience with OCI HPC, Oracle Bare Metal, and Cluster Networking
  • Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines on HPC, including GPU integration
  • Experience with research workloads (life sciences, weather modelling, genomics, etc.)
  • Knowledge of job orchestration in hybrid or federated HPC environments

Experience Level

  • 15+ years in IT
  • 5+ years in HPC & Cloud Architecture

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, architect, and lead HPC workload deployments across OCI and multi-cloud platforms
  • Define end-to-end solutions for compute, storage, networking, and job orchestration
  • Lead client discussions, presales solutioning, and stakeholder workshops
  • Collaborate with sales and delivery teams to build scalable and secure HPC cloud solutions
  • Drive automation using Terraform, Ansible, and DevOps pipelines
  • Own technical strategy for cloud-native HPC, including containerization & workload optimization
  • Support Disaster Recovery (DR) and High Availability (HA) planning for HPC clusters
  • Interface with product teams to influence roadmap and leverage OCI HPC features
  • Present solutions to CxO-level stakeholders with business case alignment
  • Mentor architects and engineers on performance tuning & parallel computing architectures

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in HPC cluster design, scheduling (SLURM, PBS), and tuning
  • Strong knowledge of parallel computing (MPI/OpenMP) and GPU/accelerator-based workloads
  • Hands-on experience with OCI (preferred) or AWS/Azure/GCP HPC services
  • Expertise in Terraform, Ansible, and automation frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of high-speed networking (InfiniBand/RDMA) and storage (Lustre, BeeGFS, FSx)
  • Proficiency in performance benchmarking, workload profiling, and tuning
  • Experience in leading large modernization initiatives involving scientific, ML/AI, or financial simulations
