Role & responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Analyze customer orders, forecasts, and demand trends to develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.
  • Prioritize and sequence production activities to optimize capacity utilization and meet delivery timelines.
  • Create and maintain accurate production schedules, ensuring alignment with business goals.

2. Resource Planning

  • Determine equipment, material, and manpower requirements based on the production plan.
  • Coordinate with the procurement and warehouse teams for timely availability of raw materials and components.
  • Work with HR/line managers to ensure adequate workforce allocation for all shifts.

3. Monitoring & Issue Resolution

  • Track production progress against plan and identify potential delays or bottlenecks.
  • Take proactive measures to resolve issues related to materials, capacity, breakdowns, or manpower shortages.
  • Escalate critical concerns to management and implement corrective action plans.

4. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Sales teams for seamless operations.
  • Drive daily review meetings to ensure alignment across departments and resolve operational challenges.
  • Ensure timely communication of production changes, risks, and commitments to internal stakeholders.

5. Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production performance, schedule adherence, and resource utilization.
  • Analyze variances and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Maintain planning dashboards and track key KPIs (OTIF, capacity utilization, material availability, etc.).

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 8 - 10 years of experience in production planning, capacity planning, or operations (preferably in manufacturing).
  • Strong understanding of production processes, material flow, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
