Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated SAP ABAP Consultant with 5+ years of hands-on experience in ABAP development, including strong expertise in IDoc processing, Smartforms, and technical leadership. The ideal candidate will have experience working on complex projects, including leading small teams and coordinating with cross-functional teams across modules (MM, SD, FI, etc.).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and implement SAP ABAP solutions based on business requirements.
  • Expertise in IDoc development, enhancement, troubleshooting, and integration with external systems.
  • Develop and maintain Smartforms, SAP Scripts, and Adobe Forms (preferred).
  • Work on custom reports, interfaces, enhancements (User Exits, BADI, BTE), and conversions (BDC, LSMW).
  • Lead development efforts for key modules and mentor junior developers.
  • Collaborate with functional consultants and business stakeholders to understand and translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews and enforce best practices and coding standards.
  • Work on performance tuning and optimization of ABAP programs.
  • Manage and track development tasks, ensuring timely delivery within project timelines.
  • Support integration scenarios (ALE/EDI) and monitor IDoc processing and error handling.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development.
  • Strong experience in IDoc/ALE/EDI, including design, customization, and error handling.
  • In-depth experience with Smartforms, SAP Scripts, and other output forms.
  • Proven experience in leading small technical teams or modules within SAP projects.
  • Good knowledge of SAP modules like MM, SD, FI, or PP.
  • Experience with performance tuning and debugging.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Exposure to SAP S/4HANA is a plus.
