Your Role

We're looking for a creative and user-obsessed Product Designer to join our Product team who redefines how students gain work experience. You'll be part of a small but mighty design team, collaborating closely with Product Managers and Engineers to create intuitive, beautiful, and impactful experiences across our web applications.

This opportunity is perfect for a designer who's excited to own the full design process — from discovery and prototyping to testing and implementation — and wants to build products that empower thousands of students and companies around the world.

What You'll Be Doing

• You'll be a part of a small and effective team - you'll have a say in what to build and then own it
• You'll design and prototype user interfaces for our web applications. You will be pivotal in delivering a seamless, user-centric app experience, to ensure that we build something valuable for the customer and end users
• You'll conduct user testing and engage with our users to get their feedback and perspectives, to learn how we can design a better user experience
• You'll translate user requirements into responsive and visually appealing interfaces
• You'll develop and maintain a clean and scalable design system and repository
• You'll stay up to date on the latest in product and design - actively exploring best practices to enhance our design excellence
• You'll identify libraries and technologies that solve our problems and/or are worth experimentation

• You're a problem solver: You thrive on tackling challenging, ambiguous problems with a proactive attitude, determination, analytical curiosity, and a cross-functional approach
• You have a high craft bar: You design elegant, thoughtful solutions to complex problems with best-in-class design and user experience
• You're deeply collaborative & constructive: You are a strong cross-functional partner, within and beyond EPD. You believe that the best designs are forged with as much feedback as possible
• You're a great communicator: You understand the importance of storytelling in getting your point across, whether internally to your teammates or externally to customers
• You thrive with autonomy and high ownership: You are a driver, excited about the potential to actively shape this product and user experience at its earliest stages

Your Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in crafting end-to-end product design
• A compelling portfolio demonstrating high-quality design work, strategic thinking, and storytelling
• Experience with Figma and have an organised approach to your designs
• Skilled in user testing and research methods, including A/B testing among others
• Familiar with responsive design principles and mobile-first approaches
• Familiar with HTML and CSS
• A great team player and fluent in written and spoken English

• Remote-First: All roles at VI are currently and will remain remote - flexibility to work from anywhere
• Flexible Working Hours: Start earlier, leave earlier, take a shorter lunch, or leave later, it's totally up to you.
• Annual Leave: Wherever you are in the world, you'll get 25 days of paid annual leave per year, plus bank holidays and 5 sick days.
• Life Event Leave: There are moments in life where your life responsibility is a higher priority than work (e.g. moving house, your best friend getting married, your sister having a baby) therefore, you'll get 5 days of paid life-event leave to support these occasions. You also get a day off on your birthday. This is in addition to your Annual Leave.
• Flexible VIer Budget: You'll receive a flexible budget of $1,000 per year that you can use on but not limited to your work setup, personal wellness, or professional development.
• Tech: New joiners receive either a Windows, a Macbook or a $750 budget for your company laptop depending on the role and location.
