WHAT YOU'LL DO
We are seeking highly skilled Software Engineers specializing in development to build and enhance scalable, high-performance enterprise applications. This role involves working with cloud-native technologies, microservices, modern frontend frameworks, while ensuring security, performance, and reliability.
As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our organization and clients. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, develop efficient code, perform rigorous testing, and deliver robust software products. The ideal candidate has a strong background in software development, a passion for technology, and a drive for continuous learning and improvement.

At H&M Group, you'll be part of the Plan & Quantify area within CoE Engineering—a global, cross-functional team dedicated to enabling data-driven decision-making at the core of our customer offering.
We empower the Assortment Office with intelligent, scalable, and user-friendly tools that drive accurate sales and demand forecasting. Our mission? To help create relevant, balanced, and profitable assortments that resonate with millions of customers worldwide.
You'll work on a modern, cloud-native product suite built with .NET Core, , and Python, while also contributing to the modernization of legacy components. These systems process vast amounts of data and play a critical role in planning and quantification across the entire product lifecycle.
Our team includes 30+ engineers—a mix of full-time employees in India and remote consultants—collaborating closely to deliver high-impact solutions. We value continuous improvement, strong engineering practices, and a shared commitment to H&M's success.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications using and related frameworks.
- Collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to translate requirements into high-quality features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code in JavaScript/TypeScript following best practices.
- Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
- Ensure application performance, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Work with RESTful APIs and integrate backend services into frontend applications.
- Utilize tools such as Webpack, Babel, or Vite for build optimization and bundling.
- Participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to improve code quality.
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests using frameworks like Jest or React Testing Library.
- Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum environment, actively participating in sprints, stand-ups, and planning sessions.
- Stay up to date with emerging frontend technologies and bring fresh ideas to improve development processes.
WHO YOU ARE
We are looking for people with
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3–6 years of professional experience in frontend development.
- Strong expertise in and proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Understanding of UI/UX design principles and ability to collaborate closely with designers.
- Knowledge of frontend build tools (Webpack, Babel, etc.) and version control systems (Git).
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new frameworks, tools, and technologies.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with backend technologies (e.g., ) and RESTful APIs.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Knowledge of testing best practices and frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress).
- Familiarity with performance optimization techniques for React apps.
- Prior experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Familiarity with Redux, React Router, or other state management libraries.
