Levi Strauss & Co. is hiring for its Digital and Technology Engineering team. We are transforming the retail experience through cutting-edge technology by developing an advanced solution that uses RFID technology to optimise inventory management and in-store processes. We are looking for a Technical Engineering Lead to oversee the architecture and development of RFID-driven systems that enhance visibility, accuracy, and operational efficiency across retail stores.

• Collaborate with Product teams and engineers to develop applications that enhance consumer experiences and boost revenue.

• Communicate complex technical issues and solutions in clear, business-friendly language.

• Work with Business, Product, and IT leadership to identify challenges and opportunities.

• lead a team of developers, hardware integrators, and cloud engineers to design scalable solutions for tracking inventory, automating store processes, and providing real-time insights using RFID.

About the Job

• Design and implement end-to-end solutions, Microservices and other services for highly available systems using public Cloud (GCP/ Azure), applying Object-Oriented Design principles, algorithms, data structures, DBMS/SQL, and top-tier Software Engineering practices.

• Experience building mobile app and web applications which work with end-to-end modules across multiple touchpoints.

• Conduct detailed analysis of our requirements and technical environments to design high-quality technical solutions.

• Manage multiple projects independently, prioritise and handle high pressure situations.

• stakeholder management with Business and IT leadership.

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of code, approach, and architecture. Contribute to the team's repository of best practices and reusable solutions.

• Guide automated / self-service solutions to decrease the incident resolution times for our customers.

• Set guidelines and governance structure for code reviews, branching strategy, test automation and observability for the team.

• Lead other team members.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Scrum or Kanban.

About You

• Minimum of 10+ years of experience with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience in Full Stack Development.

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Have worked as a technical lead with leading teams for at least 3+ years.

• Previous experience in the Retail or ecommerce domain in building solutions and working with cross-functional teams.

• RFID exposure will be preferred.

• Experience working with GCP will be preferred.

Technology Expertise:

• Proficiency in programming languages like Java, Python, , or similar.

• Expertise in designing and deploying cloud-based applications, with a preference with GCP/Azure.

• Experience with NFR's and focus on building high performing applications.

• Understanding of New Relic and other observability tools.

Integration and API Management:

• Experience with multiple integration patterns, have experience with web services, REST APIs, and asynchronous/synchronous communication methods.

• Experience with API management platforms, API documentation, versioning, and monitoring, especially with public cloud observability tools.

• Experience with event-driven systems and data streaming (Kafka, MQTT)

• Exposure with Integration technologies like Mulesoft, SAP PO/BTPIS, Boomi

DevOps and CI/CD:

• Experience in DevOps practices with hands-on knowledge of continuous integration and deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub).

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and delivering automation/regression-tested code.

Cloud and Containerization:

• Proficient in Kubernetes/Dockers, serverless architecture, messaging platforms (e.g., IBM MQ, Kafka, GCP Pub/Sub), and cloud integration techniques.

Test-Driven Development:

• Experience writing test-driven code to ensure quality and maintainability. Proficiency with GitHub, GitHub Actions.

• Review test strategy and define guidelines with focus on low touch test approach and automation.

Database Management:

Hands-on experience with RDBMS, NoSQL, Postgres, or Redis databases.

Security and Compliance:

In-depth knowledge of OWASP/security principles, authentication mechanisms, and encryption techniques within microservices and cloud environments.

Collaboration and Flexibility:

• Coordinate and track multiple deliverables across partners.

• Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate global project needs and team collaborations.
