Senior Manager, Software Engineering, DevOps and SRE

As Senior Manager, Software Engineering for DevOps and SRE, you will lead and grow a software engineering team with focus on automation, best practices in DevOps and SRE for business-critical applications. You will provide technical guidance and oversight, as well as facilitate and clarify communication.

What you'll do:

• Lead the Infra platform and shared services team and various initiatives across SRE & Infrastructure capabilities
• Lead the DevOps transformation, microservice journey, and next generation Infra platform capabilities in partnership with architects and product engineering
• Build a modern observability platform and monitoring capabilities enabled with self-service
• Accelerate the velocity of SRE and product engineering by developing robust platforms, powerful tooling, and intuitive self-service capabilities
• Own the design and operation of scalable Cloud infrastructure platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, IaC)
• Design and implement Cloud solutions, reliability engineering principles and practices
• Improve SDLC processes for Cloud infrastructure as a code, including the maturity of CI/CD pipelines, change and release management 
• Maintain a deep knowledge of industry best practices, evolving trends, and technologies
• Hire, lead, mentor and grow a high-performing team of engineers across platform, infrastructure, and shared services, striving to improve effectiveness and enabling NAVEX to deliver to production quickly, reliably and safely

What you'll need:

• 8+ years of DevOps software engineering experience with 3+ years' experience managing and leading a team of DevOps, SRE professionals 
• Extensive experience using Agile and DevOps methodologies to build product infrastructure and shared services at scale
• 5+ years of experience running large-scale infrastructure platforms supporting a SaaS/Cloud service in AWS or Azure
• Experience supporting a multi-Cloud environment will be a plus
• Strong expertise in cloud-native architectures, containerization, IaC (Terraform), and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong background and hands-on experience in software development, PaaS and automation
• Deep experience with building and operating observability platforms and monitoring tools in a large-scale environment
• Strong knowledge in Cloud Architecture (AWS) including designing and implementing cloud solutions; must have experience in at least one programming or scripting language (Python, PowerShell, Bash etc.)
• Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles, implementing SRE practices like automation, monitoring, alerts, experience in modern observability platforms 
• Experience in leading Cloud migration projects
• An ability to understand complex system configurations and drive simplification to increase supportability
• Ability to drive results through your job competencies of software program management, systems thinking, technical knowledge, influence, strategic execution and talent development while leveraging NAVEX's core values
