WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE

Provides regulatory expertise and assessments to R&D project leaders and key business partners, across PC India Global Design Centre (GDC) led projects. The successful candidate will have the following key responsibilities aligned to the Personal Care R&D strategic agenda and priorities

  • Helps to deliver growth of the PC business through initiative-taking approach that shapes the regulatory space for innovation and ensures ongoing compliance.

  • Key part of the PC India GDC Regulatory Affairs team co-ordinating, collating and summarizing Global regulatory input by networking across the PC Regulatory Affairs team to ensure all regulatory inputs across regions is incorporated for the global product.

  • Works closely with PC Regulatory Affairs GDC leads, BU RA Innovation leads, BG Product Safety, Safety Environmental & Regulatory Science (SERS), S&T lead, GDC R&D managers CTI, Packaging, Quality, Legal, Communications and External Affairs team etc. to assure that regulatory documentation, product safety and quality are fit for purpose.

  • Provides regulatory input and guidance throughout the innovation process to project initiated from India GDC (R&D) by completing regulatory assessment and formulation review through RA digital tools for all major projects.

  • Provides regulatory input into the claim fora for PC categories and finds creative solutions to innovation claims challenges while remaining within the regulatory boundaries.

  • Review competitor claims for potential challenges and takes learnings to guide Unilever innovations.

  • Provides regulatory clearance for clinical, consumer, home-use test (HUT,) and sensory studies.

  • Monitors and collects issues and trends that will impact the PC India GDC portfolio, policies and procedures and recommends strategies and plans of action to address them.

  • Provide Regulatory input for various digital tools development and their roll out to R&D.

  • Maintain an up-to-date overview of the India GDC R&D innovation program.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Minimum BSc in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biological Science, Toxicology, or equivalent.

  • 2 years of experience within an FMCG environment with expertise in regulatory requirements that govern personal care and cosmetics (ideally) and/or Drug industry (secondarily).

  • Experience in product development or Regulatory Affairs.

  • Ideal candidate will have Cosmetic Regulatory experience, particularly on Oral Care and Skin Cleansing products as well as Deodorants in order to ensure Science & Technology and Design projects land seamlessly in launch focus markets.

  • Active collaboration with R&D and non-R&D functions as well as 3rd parties in support of the innovation program.

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in India and one of either Europe or ASEAN is mandatory. Experience in dealing with regulatory requirement for China, LATAM, Middle East countries would be an added advantage.

  • A good team player with agility to be able to respond quickly to stakeholders' requests.

  • Excellent technical communication skills demonstrating ability to convey complex regulatory scenarios to stakeholders.

  • Ability to apply argumentation to influence internally.

  • Clear and logical thinker with the ability to recognize patterns and develop innovative solutions.

Skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite [Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Copilot etc.]

  • Digital Tool Proficiency: Quick digital tools adoption and advocate for digitization

  • Previous experience with innovation (Innoflex), specification and formulation management systems (PLM)
