Roles and responsibilities

· Supplier management and development: Identify, evaluate, and approve new suppliers. Manage relationships with existing vendors to secure the best terms, quality, and prices.

· Procurement planning and execution: Create and release purchase orders and work orders based on production schedules and material resource planning (MRP) requirements.

· Negotiation and cost optimization: Conduct robust negotiations for contracts and pricing with vendors to achieve cost reduction targets. Perform market analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.

· Technical collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and production, to understand technical specifications for materials and parts.

· Compliance and documentation: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards. Maintain and update purchasing records, vendor information, and agreements.

· Performance monitoring: Monitor vendor performance based on key metrics like quality, cost, and delivery. Implement corrective actions for non-conformance issues.

Required skills and qualifications

· Experience: Relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management within the automotive and OEM industry is essential, often ranging from 4 to 6 years.

· Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes and materials like sheet metal, castings, forgings, machining, Special process and electrical components.

· Negotiation and communication: Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and written and verbal communication skills.

· Software proficiency: Experience with ERP systems (like SAP) and procurement software is often required.

· Analytical skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to evaluate suppliers, analyse data, and optimize procurement processes.

· Quality standards knowledge: Familiarity with quality core tools and standards such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and IATF.

Qualification –B.E (Mech)

Required Experience – 4 to 6 year of experience ( Manufacturing in Automobile Industry)
