About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Plastic Technologist with deep technical expertise in plastic packaging manufacturing, injection molding operations, extrusion processes, and new project implementation. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in managing production processes, commissioning new lines, and ensuring quality compliance for high-precision packaging components.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical & Operations
- Lead and manage production operations for injection molding, extrusion lines, and HCT packaging components.
- Oversee machine setup, mold trials, process optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure high-quality output as per customer standards (cosmetics, FMCG, rigid packaging, etc.).
- Implement process control techniques to reduce cycle time, defects, and rejections.
Project Management
- Execute projects such as new machine installations, line commissioning, tooling development, and plant upgrades.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and engineering teams for project timelines.
- Prepare project plans, budgets, and technical documentation.
- Lead new product development trials and validation activities.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with quality systems, SOPs, safety practices, and industry standards.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and drive CAPA for quality issues.
- Support ISO audits, customer audits, and technical reviews.
Team Management
- Guide and train operators, supervisors, and technical teams on molding and extrusion processes.
- Manage daily production planning and manpower allocation.
- Maintain discipline, productivity, and strong shop-floor control.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvements, and efficiency enhancement.
- Implement Lean practices, 5S, Kaizen, and automation initiatives.
Key Skills Required
- Strong technical knowledge of injection molding machines, molds, hot runners, and tooling
- Experience with HCT packaging components (caps, closures, bottles, dispensers, cosmetic packaging)
- Expertise in extrusion processes
- Good understanding of polymers, additives, and material behavior
- Ability to manage large-scale projects and multi-functional teams
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
