Project Engineer

Why this role exists

This role aims to improve clarity, accuracy, and predictability in construction projects through BIM, 4D modeling, and advanced visualization techniques. It ensures that designs, schedules, and construction data are coordinated and actionable for project teams. By translating design intent into dependable models, sequences, and visualizations, this role helps teams make quicker decisions, identify potential risks, and deliver high-quality results.

What will you own

• Study drawings, RFIs, addendums, and other project documents and update models accordingly.
• Develop BIM models at varying levels of detail for structure, architecture, and site according to design documents and BIM XP standards.
• Set up projects and implement workflows using tools such as Revit, ACC/BIM360, and Synchro, applying automation where possible.
• Create 4D construction sequence models by linking 3D BIM models with schedule activities.
• Review schedules using 4D BIM models, identify potential issues, and escalate to project teams.
• Ensure quality of work meets client and internal standards before submission.
• Participate in project planning and implementation for estimates, schedules, and resources.
• Communicate and collaborate with onsite and international project teams, including client meetings scheduled between 5 PM and 10 PM IST.
• Create schedules from scratch based on project inputs and milestones.
• Review schedules and extract reports using tools like Primavera P6.
• Analyze BIM data using database tools and Power BI for visualization.
• Generate high-quality renders from Revit models using tools like Enscape, Lumion, or Twinmotion.
• Apply advanced visualization techniques using Unreal Engine to enhance 4D BIM models or create AR/VR/MR experiences.
• Train and mentor new team members on technical workflows.
• Research new features, experiment with automation, and continuously improve software workflows and processes.

A day in this role

A typical day begins with reviewing project documents, drawings, RFIs, and updates to ensure the BIM model reflects current design intent. You work on building or refining 3D models, linking them to schedules to create 4D simulations, and checking for potential conflicts or gaps. You collaborate with project engineers, planners, and client teams to clarify requirements, address issues, and maintain alignment across disciplines. You generate visualizations, extract insights from BIM data, and document updates or lessons learned. Client meetings and coordination calls, often in the evening IST hours, keep stakeholders informed and engaged. You end the day by reviewing progress, updating workflows, and exploring automation or new visualization techniques.

What you should bring

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
• At least 1 year of experience in BIM, planning, or site-based engineering roles.
• Working knowledge of BIM methods, tools, and construction technology workflows.
• Experience with prominent BIM tools such as Revit, Navisworks, and Synchro.
• Familiarity with coding or scripting in Dynamo, Python, or equivalent is desirable.
• Strong understanding of construction processes from design to execution.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with clients and teams.
• Attention to detail, collaborative mindset, and willingness to experiment and learn.
