Position: Electrical Engineer - Solar Projects

Reports To: Operations Manager / Project Head

Role Overview

The Electrical Engineer (Operations) will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operational aspects of solar power projects from the head office. The role involves monitoring project performance, providing technical support, coordinating with site teams, ensuring compliance with electrical standards, and supporting O&M activities to achieve optimal plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze daily/weekly/monthly performance reports of solar projects.
  • Provide technical support to site teams for electrical operations, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
  • Review project drawings, SLDs, electrical layouts, and ensure compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for project-related operations.
  • Ensure adherence to statutory regulations, DISCOM requirements, and safety norms.
  • Support in planning and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain documentation of project operations, electrical records, and compliance reports.
  • Assist in energy yield analysis, performance ratio monitoring, and suggest optimization measures.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and quality checks for electrical equipment and systems.
  • Report project issues, risks, and performance updates to management.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelors Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • 25 years of experience in electrical operations within solar power projects (Rooftop/Ground-mounted).
  • Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, protection systems, and grid integration.
  • Familiarity with SCADA monitoring systems and electrical safety standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and electrical analysis tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical mindset, and ability to handle operational challenges.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills for cross-functional interactions.
