Structural Design Engineer

  • Proficient in advanced surfacing, 3D modeling, and 2D drafting using CATIA V5 or any other CAD tool
  • Strong understanding of DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFA (Design for Assembly), DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes relevant to frame design
  • Exposure to sheet metal analysis software
  • Good understanding of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for chassis system components
  • Experience in managing suppliers and collaborating with internal/external customers

Preferred candidate profile

The Engineer (Design) is responsible for visualizing and generating feasible design concepts in3D/2D, considering weight/cost targets. The Engineer is responsible for doing the layout and design of chassis systems and ensures proper interfacing with adjoining systems. The Engineer also needs to maintain tolerances stack resulting in gaps/flush variation on vehicle. The engineer coordinates with vendors for delivery of parts as per quality, cost and time targets.
