Position: Driver Trainer Electric Vehicle (EV) Bus & Trucks

Location: Chakan Plant

Job Summary:

The Driver Trainer for EV Bus is responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training programs to educate drivers on the operation, safety, and maintenance of electric buses. This role focuses on enhancing drivers' skills in vehicle handling, safety practices, and efficient EV operation to ensure optimal performance and passenger safety.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Conduct Driver Training Programs:

2. Develop and deliver both classroom and hands-on training sessions covering EV bus & Truck operations, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.

3. Train drivers on advanced topics such as regenerative braking, energy-efficient driving practices, and electric powertrain handling.
4. Test Drive on road with participants

5. Field testing of drivers on Defensive driving & EV operations

6. Simulator Training and On-Track Experience:

7. Provide training on the use of the driver simulator, focusing on essential driving skills, fault identification, and hazard management in a controlled environment.

8. Facilitate both on-track and on-road training to build practical, real-world experience with EV buses, emphasizing smooth transitions from simulator to actual driving conditions.

9. Technical Skills Training:

10. Guide drivers in interpreting diagnostic displays, fault codes, and instrument panel readings specific to EV buses.

11. Educate on vehicle systems, including high-voltage components, NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) management, and troubleshooting common issues.

13. How to use chargers in Truck & Buses with practical demo
14. Towing procedure for EV Trucks & Buses

15. Daily Drivers checks

16. Safety and Compliance:

17. Ensure drivers understand and adhere to safety standards, including safe handling of high-voltage systems.

18. Regularly review and reinforce knowledge of speed management, braking, and compliance with road and operational regulations.

19. Provide training on current traffic rules and regulations, emphasizing adherence to legal requirements and best practices for public road safety.

20. Traffic Rules and Regulations:

21. Instruct drivers on national and regional traffic laws relevant to EV bus operation.

22. Cover essential topics such as speed limits, road signs, right of way, and defensive driving strategies.

23. Ensure drivers can navigate complex traffic scenarios safely and legally, promoting a high standard of road safety compliance.

24. Performance Assessment and Certification:

25. Conduct evaluations and assessments to gauge driver proficiency and readiness across simulator, on-track, and on-road settings.

26. Issue certifications upon successful completion of training, maintaining records of driver performance and training history.
27. Sharing Drivers score with Owner/Customer

29. Documentation and Reporting:

30. Maintain accurate training logs, assessment results, and feedback reports.

31. Continuously update training materials to reflect advancements in EV technology, operational standards, and regulatory changes.

Qualifications:

• Education: ITI/Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Certification in EV technology or driver training programs is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in bus driver training, with a focus on electric vehicles preferred. Experience with Volvo buses and familiarity with CIRT standards are highly desirable. Experience with driver simulation equipment is a plus.
• Skills: Excellent communication and teaching skills, technical knowledge of EV systems, proficiency in training tools and diagnostics, and familiarity with simulator operation.

• Can speak Hindi fluently

• Certification: Valid drivers license with Badge and EV operation certification (if applicable).
