Operations & Finance
- Oversee daily activities: Ensure smooth front-of-house and back-of-house flow.
- Financial management: Control costs, manage budgets, track sales, and identify profit-maximizing strategies.
- Inventory & Procurement: Monitor stock, order supplies, and manage relationships with vendors.
- Menu: Plan menus and pricing, often with the chef, and help develop wine lists.
Staff Management
- Recruitment & Training: Hire, train, and supervise all restaurant staff.
- Scheduling: Create staff rotas and manage shifts.
- Performance: Appraise staff, provide feedback, and motivate the team.
Customer Experience & Marketing
- Customer Service: Ensure high-quality service, resolve complaints, and build customer rapport.
- Marketing: Promote the restaurant through events, social media, and promotions.
- Brand Image: Maintain the restaurant's reputation and positive culture.
Compliance & Safety
- Health & Safety: Enforce hygiene, sanitation, and safety regulations.
- Legal Compliance: Ensure adherence to licensing and other legal requirements.
Reporting & Admin
- Reporting: Prepare sales, food, and staff control reports.
- Administrative Tasks: Handle payroll data, leave requests, and daily logs.
