Job Summary:

The Career skills trainer/consultant will be responsible for providing personalized career development training and counselling to life science professionals. This role involves conducting workshops and individual sessions on resume building, cover letter writing, LinkedIn optimization, and mock interview preparation. You will work closely with the placement team to understand job requirements and provide targeted training to help candidates excel in interviews.

Responsibilities:

Career Training & Counselling:

Conduct personalized career counselling sessions to understand candidates' professional backgrounds, skills, and career aspirations.

Develop and deliver engaging training sessions on resume building, cover letter writing, LinkedIn optimization, and interview preparation.

Provide expert guidance on customizing resumes and cover letters to specific job descriptions.

Conduct comprehensive LinkedIn profile reviews and provide actionable feedback for optimization.

Deliver individual mock interview sessions, simulating real-world scenarios and providing constructive feedback.

Placement Team Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with the placement team to understand job descriptions and employer requirements.

Utilize insights from the placement team to tailor training sessions and mock interviews to specific opportunities.

Provide feedback to the placement team on candidates' strengths and areas for improvement.

Coordinate with the placement team to understand the current job market trends and the specific requirements of the hiring companies.

Candidate Development:

Assess candidates' communication and interview skills and provide targeted coaching.

Help candidates build confidence and overcome interview anxiety.

Provide ongoing support and guidance to candidates throughout the job search process.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in a relevant field (Life Sciences, Human Resources, Psychology, etc.).

2-3 years of experience in career counselling, skills and interview training preferably in the life sciences industry.

Proven expertise in resume building, cover letter writing, LinkedIn optimization, and interview preparation.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

Ability to provide constructive feedback and motivate candidates.

Experience conducting mock interviews and providing detailed feedback.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work closely with the placement team.

Preferred Skills:

Experience using online career development tools and platforms.

Certification in career coaching or related fields.

Experience with CRM systems.
