Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Traffic Survey Analyst to collect, process, and interpret data related to traffic flow, transportation patterns, and infrastructure usage. The ideal candidate will support transportation planning, traffic management, and infrastructure development projects by providing accurate, actionable insights derived from traffic surveys and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement traffic and transportation surveys (e.g., vehicle counts, speed studies, origin-destination surveys, pedestrian counts).
  • Analyze traffic data using specialized software (e.g., MS Excel, GIS, or traffic modeling tools such as SYNCHRO, VISSIM, or AIMSUN).
  • Prepare reports, charts, and presentations that summarize traffic patterns and key findings.
  • Monitor and ensure data accuracy and integrity during data collection and entry.
  • Work with local governments, engineers, or urban planners to provide data-driven recommendations.
  • Assist in forecasting traffic trends and assessing the impact of proposed transportation projects.
  • Maintain databases and perform quality control on incoming traffic datasets.
  • Stay up to date with industry standards, transportation regulations, and survey technologies (e.g., video analytics, radar counters, GPS tracking).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, Statistics, Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in traffic data collection, transport analysis, or a similar field.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, or R) and GIS software.
  • Familiarity with traffic survey equipment and data processing techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in field and office settings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with traffic modeling/simulation software (e.g., VISSIM, SYNCHRO, TransCAD).
  • Knowledge of transport policy and planning frameworks.
  • Prior work experience in a transportation or civil engineering consultancy or government agency.

Work Environment:

  • Combination of office work and fieldwork.
