We have a hybrid work culture. 3 days a week working from the Hyderabad office during core working hours and 2 days working from home.

Job Description:

We are looking for a highly skilled
Senior
Sustaining Engineer
to act as the technical lead for our sustaining engineering team. In this role, you'll combine deep enterprise software expertise with a passion for solving the most complex customer issues. You will support escalations, be a mentor to peers, and a builder of tools and processes that make our platform more reliable and supportable at scale.

As a Senior Sustaining Engineer, you will…

• Investigate and resolve customer-reported product issues in collaboration with Customer Support.
• Debug Linux-based systems software across C/C++, Python, and Bash codebases.
• Develop automation and diagnostic tools that improve customer supportability.
• Participate in design/code reviews and advocate for customer-centric fixes.
• Perform log analysis, performance benchmarking, and system tuning.
• Collaborate with core engineering to improve resiliency and serviceability.
• Mentor junior sustaining engineers on best practices in debugging and enterprise support.
• Be a part of the quarterly 24x7 on-call rotation.

Required skills + experience we look for are…

• 6 - 9 years of enterprise software or storage platform development experience.
• 4–7 years of experience developing/debugging Linux-based software.
• Strong skills in C, C++, Python, and Bash.
• Deep understanding of Linux internals: systemd, storage stack, networking, security.
• Familiarity with filesystems (XFS, EXT4) and kernel-level performance tuning.
• Hands-on debugging using gdb, valgrind, tcpdump, wireshark.
• Experience with authentication (AD/LDAP) and database technologies (SQL/Postgres).
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.

It's a Bonus if you have....

• Experience with hypervisors (ESX, Hyper-V, KVM) or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub) and packaging systems (rpm/yum).
• Open-source contributions or experience in community-driven projects.

Location
This position is based in Hyderabad, India, working as part of a global, follow-the-sun sustaining engineering model.

Experience

• BE/B.Tech, ME/M.Tech in computer science (or) Electronics and Communications (or) MCA
• 6 - 9 years' previous experience in the industry. At least 4+ years of experience in similar sustaining type environment.
