Job Description
We are currently seeking a seasoned Disaster Recovery Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This role requires a deep understanding of VEEAM Backup solutions and a robust background in disaster recovery operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, configuring, and optimizing our VEEAM Backup infrastructure to ensure the security and integrity of our data across multiple systems.
Manage and configure VEEAM Backup Enterprise Manager.
Implement and maintain VEEAM Backup and Replication utilities including replication and restore points.
Configure backup policies, schedules for OS, databases, devices, storage units, and media, and handle restoration requests.
Analyse logs to identify the root causes of backup failures.
Create and monitor backup jobs, execute restore jobs, troubleshoot failed jobs, and initiate corrective actions.
Coordinate with vendors for hardware replacements and root cause analysis investigations.
Manage tape rotation schedules and tape library configurations.
Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly dashboard reports as per customer requirements.
Oversee capacity, reporting, and performance management.
Maintain and enhance storage pools, volumes, and manage CIFS shared folders and NFS/CIFS/ISCSI SAN/FC SAN protocols.
Ensure SLA adherence and attainment.
Develop and maintain documentation for backup procedures and project artifacts.
Engage in continuous learning about data protection and backup infrastructure.
Act as the primary escalation point for service requests and incidents relating to backup and recovery.
Coordinate with third-party suppliers for issue resolution and maintain a high level of service quality.
Produce and maintain technical documentation, system reports, and updates for management.
Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on servers, storage systems,
Perform capacity planning, and optimize storage resources.
Manage third party cloud backup for M365/Azure and other key data sources.
Setup of new Veeam instances and central Enterprise Manager
