Your opportunity
New Relic is looking for a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our global Accounting team in India. This role would provide exposure to a wide range of accounting responsibilities and tasks. We are a close-knit team that encourages growth and thinking creatively.

The right person for this job has strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills. The ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced varied environment is ideal. You'll report to the Accounting Manager.

What You'll Do

• You'll own the monthly close of various financial statement line items and related reconciliation processes
• You'll prepare journal entries, maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• You'll support timely financial close, including assigned journal entries
• You'll collaborate with various departments, including Financial Reporting, FP&A, Payroll, and Accounts Payable teams for proper recording of transactions
• You'll ensure compliance with established SOX policies and procedures and update documentation as necessary
• You'll prepare monthly flux analysis for various GL accounts for management
• You'll fulfill external audit requests for supporting documentation
• You'll perform various special projects, ad-hoc requests, and other assigned tasks

This role requires

• Minimum of 4+ years experience in an organization focused on US GAAP accounting
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

Bonus points if you have

• Public Accounting experience, preferably Big 4
• CPA/CA
• Recent SaaS General Ledger experience
• Netsuite experience
• Experience working with global teams in accounting processes
