Role Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated and hands-on professional to join our Product Reliability team. This role is crucial for ensuring the
quality, reliability, and durability
of our Room Air Conditioners (Split and Window types) and Heat Pumps. The successful candidate will be responsible for
planning, executing, and supervising
comprehensive testing, ensuring strict adherence to global and internal standards.

A core focus of this position is to
drive continuous product quality improvement
through disciplined adherence to Design Verification and Validation Plans (DVVP), rigorous Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), field failure root cause analysis, and strategic competitor benchmarking.

Key Responsibilities

Testing, Validation, and Analysis

• Plan, conduct, and oversee all
  reliability, durability, and performance testing
  of Room Air Conditioners and Heat Pumps.
• Implement and execute
  Design Verification and Validation Plans (DVVP)
  according to design and reliability objectives.
• Perform specialized tests for voltage variation, endurance, and environmental conditions (high/low ambient temperatures) under simulated field conditions.
• Support system and component-level
  Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  .
• Conduct thorough
  field failure analysis
  to identify root causes and define effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Benchmark
  competitor products and components to inform product and component design improvements.

Compliance and Reporting

• Ensure strict
  compliance
  with applicable international and national standards, including
  IS 302-1, IEC , IEC , and IS/IEC 60529
  .
• Accurately
  record, maintain, and analyze test data
  , log sheets, calibration records, and generate detailed test reports with high accuracy and traceability.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with
  R&D, Quality, and Customer Service
  teams regarding test findings, validation results, and customer feedback integration.
• Ensure the
  confidentiality and security
  of all test data, documents, and product information.

Laboratory Management

• Supervise lab technicians
  , allocate daily work, and ensure strict adherence to safety and quality procedures.
• Develop
  new test standards, fixtures, and test setups
  to enhance the lab's capabilities and address potential failure modes under simulated field conditions.
• Manage the preventive maintenance and calibration schedules for all lab equipment and maintain equipment history cards.
• Handle various
  Data Acquisition Systems (DAS)
  for measurements (temperature, pressure, voltage, current, power, strain, etc.).
• Work in
  rotational shifts
  based on testing schedules and laboratory requirements.

Qualification and Technical Requirements

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in
  Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  .
• Minimum of
  3–7 years
  of hands-on experience in product reliability testing, validation, or quality control, preferably within the
  HVAC, Room Air Conditioner, or Heat Pump industry
  .

Core Technical Knowledge

• Strong practical understanding of
  Room AC and Heat Pump systems
  , subcomponents, and their functional relationships.
• Sound knowledge of relevant test standards:
  IS 302-1, IEC , IEC , and IS/IEC 60529
  .
• Proficiency in executing
  DVVP, performing FMEA, and conducting root cause analysis
  for field failures.
• Familiarity with benchmarking methodologies and competitor product evaluations.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, control circuits, and instrumentation.
• Working knowledge of
  ISO/IEC 17025
  is an added advantage.
