Job Summary:

The Estimation Engineer will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for instrumentation and fluid/flow control projects.

This role involves analysing project specifications, assessing material and labour costs, and collaborating with sales and engineering teams to develop competitive bids.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Estimate Preparation:

  2. Analyse project specifications, drawings, and requirements.

  3. Prepare detailed cost estimates for instrumentation and fluid/flow control solutions.

  4. Identify and quantify all materials, labour, and equipment needed for the project.

  5. Technical Evaluation:

  6. Assess the technical requirements and ensure compatibility with proposed solutions.

  7. Liaise with suppliers for pricing and lead times on components and systems.

  8. Bid Development:

  9. Develop comprehensive bids and proposals.

  10. Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to ensure estimates meet client requirements and project timelines.

  11. Cost Analysis:

  12. Perform cost analysis and risk assessments.

  13. Review and refine estimates based on project feedback and historical data.

  14. Client Interaction:

  15. Present and explain estimates to clients.

  16. Address any client inquiries and provide technical support during the bidding process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical)

  • 3+ years of experience in estimation within the instrumentation, fluid, or flow control industry.

  • Strong understanding of instrumentation and fluid/flow control systems and components.

  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools.

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
