Department: Purchase & Supply Chain

Reporting To: Purchase Manager

Role Objective

To manage the procurement of mechanical, electrical, and manufactured parts for Special Purpose Machines (SPMs), Vision Inspection Systems, and IVD Manufacturing Machines, ensuring timely availability of quality materials at the best cost.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Source, evaluate, and finalize vendors for mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and fabricated parts.
  • Issue RFQs (Request for Quotation), compare quotations, and negotiate prices.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with reliable suppliers.

Purchase Process

  • Generate Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up on deliveries.
  • Ensure material availability as per project timelines.
  • Coordinate with store/quality teams for material receipt & inspection.

Cost & Quality Control

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Ensure that parts and components meet technical specifications & quality standards.
  • Track and resolve any issues related to delayed deliveries or rejected materials.

Coordination & Documentation

  • Work closely with design, project, and production teams for material requirements.
  • Maintain purchase records, supplier database, and cost analysis reports.
  • Support in vendor audits and compliance requirements.

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of mechanical/electrical parts, machining processes, and industrial components.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/Inventory software (preferred).
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple purchase orders simultaneously.

Qualification & Experience

  • Education: Diploma / B.E. (Mechanical/Electrical) or B.Com with technical knowledge.
  • Experience: 1-3 years in purchase/procurement in machine manufacturing or automation industry.
  • Freshers with good technical & negotiation skills may also apply.
