About the Role

As a Database Engineer , you'll be responsible for establishing and implementing best practices for SQL/NoSQL database engineering at scale. You'll work across multiple NoSQL technologies and collaborate closely with other engineering teams to drive innovation and performance.

What You Will Do

  • Manage, maintain, and monitor multiple SQL/NoSQL database clusters, ensuring SLA commitments.
  • Handle both in-house and SaaS solutions in the public cloud (or 3rd party).
  • Diagnose, mitigate, and communicate database-related issues to stakeholders.
  • Design and implement best practices for provisioning, tuning, upgrading, and decommissioning clusters.
  • Optimize costs and implement control mechanisms with continuous improvements.
  • Support product, engineering, and operations teams with database expertise.
  • Maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Automate solutions to enhance scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Research new features and innovative database solutions.
  • Participate in on-call rotations.

What You Will Need

  • 1+ years of experience in provisioning & managing SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language – Python, Bash.
  • Experience with deployment orchestration, automation, and security configuration (Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS and/or GCP.
  • Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP stack, load balancers, and networking.
  • Strong project execution skills.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field (preferred).
