Software Development Engineer III (SDE 3)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Development Engineer III (SDE 3) to join our dynamic engineering team.

This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer with a strong background in backend development and/or full-stack development, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for building robust, scalable, and high-performance applications.

The SDE 3 will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and deploying complex software systems, mentoring junior engineers, and championing best practices across the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and Development : Lead the design and implementation of highly available, low-latency, and performant backend services and APIs, ensuring high concurrency and effective asynchronous processing.

- Coding Excellence : Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code primarily in Java, applying strong knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms to solve complex technical challenges.

- Database Management : Design, optimize, and maintain database schemas and queries using technologies like SQL Server, MySQL, NoSQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.

- Scripting and Automation : Utilize Python, PHP, or other scripting languages for rapid prototyping, automation of development/deployment tasks, and operational support.

- System Architecture : Develop deep hands-on experience with asynchronous and RESTful systems, focusing on distributed systems and microservices architecture.

- Code Review and Quality : Actively participate in and lead code reviews to ensure adherence to engineering standards, security requirements, and overall code quality.

- Mentorship and Leadership : Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

- Collaboration : Work closely with product managers, QA, and other engineering teams to define specifications, plan feature rollouts, and resolve production issues.

- Best Practices : Champion and enforce best software engineering practices across all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including design, testing, deployment, and monitoring.

Required Qualifications :

- Education : BTech degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.

- Experience : 4 to 6 years of progressive, relevant work experience in software development, with a significant focus on backend or full-stack roles.

- Core Programming : Strong, demonstrable expertise and extensive hands-on experience in Java.

- Computer Science Fundamentals : Deep understanding and practical application of Data Structures and Algorithms.

- Databases : Strong knowledge and practical experience with one or more relational or non-relational database systems such as SQL Server, MySQL, NoSQL, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.

Experience with database performance tuning is highly desirable.

- Scripting : Experience in scripting languages such as Python, PHP, or similar for utility development and automation.

- System Design : Proven hands-on experience in designing and building scalable systems that are asynchronous, RESTful, and capable of handling high concurrency.

- SDLC Knowledge : Solid knowledge and practical experience with modern best software engineering practices for all phases of the software development life cycle (e., source control, CI/CD, unit testing, integration testing, monitoring, and production support)
