Role & responsibilities

  • Strategically plan and manage container dispatch operations through rail, ensuring alignment with the Container Terminals throughput targets.
  • Optimize rail connectivity and scheduling to enhance cargo movement efficiency and reduce turnaround times.
  • Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure seamless integration of rail dispatch with port operations.
  • Monitor and analyze operational data to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions for continuous improvement.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance rail infrastructure utilization, ensuring capacity optimization and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead coordination with rail service providers and government agencies to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Implement advanced cargo-handling technologies to streamline container dispatch processes.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and operational protocols within the rail dispatch unit.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Provide strategic inputs to the Container Terminal Head for improving overall logistics efficiency and achieving business objectives.

Preferred candidate profile

  • BE / B Tech / MBA in Logistics / SCM
  • 15+ years of experience in container handling and rail dispatch operations.
  • Extensive experience in managing logistics operations within port environments.
  • Proficiency in logistics management software and rail scheduling platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale operations and deliver measurable outcomes.
