Role Summary

The Manager IT Asset Management will own and govern Lenskarts enterprise-wide IT asset ecosystem across corporate offices, manufacturing plants, warehouses, and retail stores. This role is responsible for policy, controls, cost optimization, audit readiness, and team leadership, ensuring accurate asset visibility and compliance at scale in a fast-growing retail and manufacturing environment.

Role & responsibilities:

IT Asset Strategy & Governance

  • Define, implement, and continuously improve IT Asset Management (ITAM) policies, SOPs, and controls.
  • Own the complete asset lifecycle governance from procurement to disposal across all locations.
  • Drive standardization of asset classification, tagging, and ownership models.

Enterprise Asset Operations

  • Ensure accurate tracking of hardware assets (end-user devices, POS systems, servers, networking equipment, peripherals).
  • Oversee asset movements across locations and ensure reconciliation with system records.
  • Partner with IT Ops and Service Desk to ensure SLA-driven asset support and replacements.

Procurement, Cost & Vendor Management

  • Work closely with Procurement and Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and asset capitalization.
  • Lead vendor negotiations, AMCs, warranties, and service contracts to optimize cost and performance.
  • Drive initiatives for asset reuse, lifecycle extension, and cost reduction.

Audit, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, IT policies, and audit requirements (internal, statutory, SOX-like controls where applicable).
  • Lead periodic physical asset audits, variance analysis, and closure of audit observations.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation for asset ownership, movement, and disposal.

People & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and mentor the ITAM team; define roles, KPIs, and performance metrics.
  • Act as the single point of contact for asset-related escalations with HR, Finance, IT, Procurement, and Business Leaders.
  • Support employee lifecycle processes (onboarding, role changes, offboarding) from an asset governance standpoint.

Reporting, Automation & Scale

  • Own executive dashboards on asset utilization, aging, depreciation, and spend.
  • Drive automation and system improvements using ITSM / ITAM tools (ServiceNow, Freshservice, ManageEngine, etc.).
  • Support expansion initiatives (new stores, plants, offices) with scalable asset readiness plans.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors degree in IT, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in IT Asset Management / IT Operations, with at least 2+ years in a people management role
  • Exposure to retail, e-commerce, manufacturing, or multi-location enterprises
  • ITIL / ITAM / ISO 20000 certification preferred
