Role Overview
The Credit Control Manager will be responsible for driving the organizations credit, collections, and recovery strategy to ensure timely realization of receivables, maintaining optimal working capital, and minimizing credit risk exposure. This role is a key link between Finance and Sales, ensuring customer accounts are well managed, disputes are resolved promptly, and recoveries are maximized.
We are seeking IIM graduates with 5 to10 years of experience who bring a strong track record in Recovery Management, Credit Control, Customer Relationship Management, and Accounts Receivable Management in high-volume, B2B industries.
Key Responsibilities
1. Credit & Recovery Management
- Develop and implement credit policies and procedures in line with the company's risk appetite.
- Evaluate and approve credit limits in coordination with the Sales and Finance leadership.
- Track and manage overdue accounts, initiate recovery actions, and negotiate settlements with customers.
- Implement proactive measures to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO).
2. Customer & Sales Team Collaboration
- Partner closely with Sales Heads and Key Account Managers to address receivable issues while preserving customer relationships.
- Support sales negotiations with commercially viable credit terms.
- Conduct customer visits for high-value receivable follow-ups and dispute resolution.
3. Accounts Receivable Operations
- Monitor customer account balances, credit exposures, and payment performance.
- Oversee accurate and timely invoicing, allocation of receipts, and reconciliation of customer accounts.
- Ensure robust documentation for credit decisions and recovery actions.
4. Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare periodic MIS on receivables aging, DSO trends, and recovery performance for management review.
- Identify high-risk accounts and recommend remedial actions.
- Leverage analytics to forecast collections and assess portfolio credit health.
5. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to contractual terms, statutory requirements, and internal audit controls.
- Liaise with legal counsel for initiating recovery litigation where required.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, and Recovery Management.
- Proven experience in customer relationship management in B2B environments.
- Financial acumen with understanding of working capital optimization.
- Strong negotiation, persuasion, and conflict resolution skills.
- Data-driven decision-making and proficiency in ERP/CRM systems.
- Ability to collaborate across functions in a high-performance environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: MBA/PGDM from IIMs (or equivalent premier B-school).
- Experience: 510 years in credit control, receivables, recovery management, preferably in manufacturing, chemicals, petrochemicals, or other high-value B2B industries.
- Desirable: Exposure to legal recovery processes and commercial contract management.
