Role:

We are hiring a QA Engineer with 1–3 years of experience in mobile testing. The candidate will focus on automation testing (Appium, Java/Python) while also supporting manual testing for Android/iOS apps. The role involves writing and maintaining automation scripts, executing regression and functional tests, reporting defects, and collaborating with the team to ensure high-quality product releases.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain automation test scripts for mobile applications (Android/iOS).
  • Perform functional, regression, and integration testing across devices, OS versions, and screen sizes.
  • Contribute to framework enhancements (e.g., Page Object Model, data-driven testing).
  • Work closely with product managers and developers to understand requirements and validate new functionality.
  • Analyze and debug automation test failures, escalating issues with clear logs and defect reports.
  • Execute and maintain tests in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar).
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, reviews) and share QA insights.
  • Ensure high-quality defect reporting with reproducible steps, logs, and environment details.
  • Continuously improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and overall QA effectiveness.
  • Support manual QA efforts by identifying areas for automation and reducing regression overhead.

Skills

  • Experience testing mobile applications (Android/iOS), including installation, navigation, and responsive UI/UX validation across devices and OS versions.
  • Experience in using test case development and management tools, linking test cases to requirements, defect management, and metrics reporting (Examples: Jira, TestRail, X-Ray, etc).
  • Experience with regression testing techniques and exploratory and scenario-based testing techniques.
  • Understanding of software development and implementation methodologies including iterative and agile. Preferred agile (scrum) testing experience and knowledge and or continuous delivery.
  • Experience or knowledge with Appium (preferred), Espresso, or XCUITest for mobile test automation.
  • Experience with SQL, Git/SVN, and MySQL for basic queries and version control.
  • Preferred: 1–3 years of testing experience in manual and automation testing of mobile apps.
  • Nice to have: Understanding of API testing tools (Postman, Charles Proxy) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Nice to have: Testing certifications such as ISTQB-CTFL, CSTE, or CSQA.
  • Preferred experience in test frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, or Pytest).
  • Self-motivated, innovative and results-oriented.
  • Resourceful and possesses a 'can-do' attitude.
