About the Role-

We are seeking an Intern - Product Management (Compliance & Payments) to join our growing Product team in Chennai. In this role, you'll work at the intersection of compliance, payments, and trust, helping shape how millions of sellers onboard, verify their identity, and receive payments on the Poshmark platform.

This is a hands-on internship for recent graduates or early professionals (0–2 years) who are passionate about building scalable, secure, and user-centric financial products. You'll work closely with the Product Manager leading Compliance & Payments, and collaborate with cross-functional partners in Engineering, Data Science, Risk, Legal, and Operations to drive initiatives that strengthen user trust and streamline payout experiences.

You'll learn how product decisions are made in a high-scale marketplace, contribute directly to product design and data analysis, and gain exposure to regulatory frameworks and real-world payments operations.

Key Responsibilities-

  1. Define Product Vision & Strategy (with mentorship)

  2. Support the development of a clear roadmap for Compliance and Payments initiatives that align with Poshmark's trust and financial goals.

  3. Contribute to defining success metrics and KPIs that measure operational efficiency, seller conversion, and compliance completion rates.
  4. Translate user problems and business needs into detailed product requirements and success metrics.
  5. Assist in mapping long-term strategy around KYC verification, payout eligibility, and seller account management.

  6. Drive Execution of Compliance & Payments Features

  7. Translate high-level problems into actionable user stories, acceptance criteria, and design requirements.

  8. Collaborate with Engineering, QA, and Data Science during development and testing to ensure smooth execution.
  9. Participate in sprint reviews, stand-ups, and feature rollouts to track progress and identify dependencies.

  10. Leverage Data & Insights for Continuous Improvement

  11. Partner with Analytics to evaluate seller verification rates, payout turnaround times, and support escalations.

  12. Use data to identify bottlenecks, user drop-offs, and compliance pain points and propose actionable improvements.
  13. Participate in A/B tests or feature experiments to validate hypotheses around compliance flows or payment success.

  14. Elevate User & Operational Experience

  15. Contribute to refining the KYC and payments UX through error-state analysis, microcopy feedback, and educational prompts.

  16. Ensure features are compliant, user-friendly, and operationally scalable across global markets
  17. Partner with Operations and Trust & Safety teams to align product improvements with real-world edge cases and support policies.

  18. Strengthen Collaboration & Documentation

  19. Build strong relationships across Product, Engineering, Risk, and Legal to maintain alignment and accountability.

  20. Maintain up-to-date product documentation including flow diagrams, rollout plans, and post-launch learnings.
  21. Contribute to retrospectives, weekly syncs, and reporting dashboards tracking KPIs and feature adoption.

Who You Are-

  • A recent graduate or early professional (0–2 years) with strong interest in product management, fintech, or marketplace operations.
  • Structured thinker with ability to break down complex problems into actionable hypotheses.
  • Comfortable analyzing data and drawing insights that inform prioritization or iteration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; can articulate product ideas clearly across functions.
  • Bias for ownership: proactive, accountable, and comfortable operating with some ambiguity.
  • Collaborative mindset; enjoys working across time zones with product, design, and engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications-

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of payments, KYC, or risk management systems is a plus.
  • Prior internship, startup, or cross-functional project experience demonstrating product aptitude.
  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SQL, or Figma preferred but not required.

What You'll Gain-

  • End-to-end exposure to product development in a global marketplace environment.
  • Practical experience defining requirements, analyzing impact, and iterating on live features.
  • Mentorship from senior PMs and cross-functional exposure across Payments, Risk, and Trust & Safety.
  • The opportunity to own a mini-project or feature from ideation to launch, presenting your work to product leadership at the end of the internship.

6-Month Milestone-

  • Contribute to 2–3 incremental improvements or optimizations in compliance or payout workflows.
  • Assist in delivering 1–2 end-to-end product features from requirement to launch.
