Job Title: Plumbing & FireFighting Draughtsman

Responsibilities

  • Drafting & Detailing:Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings and blueprints for plumbing (water supply, drainage, sewage) and fire fighting systems (sprinklers, hydrants, suppression).
  • Software Proficiency:Utilize CAD software, such as AutoCAD and Revit, to create layouts, elevations, sections, isometric drawings, and schematic diagrams.
  • Code Compliance:Ensure all drawings and system designs adhere to local, national, and international building codes and standards, such as those from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
  • MEP Coordination:Coordinate plumbing and fire fighting designs with other Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) services, including HVAC and electrical systems.
  • Documentation:Prepare and review technical documents, bills of materials (BOMs), and material take-off sheets.
  • Calculations:Perform basic hydraulic and plumbing calculations to determine system requirements.
  • Site Visits:Conduct site visits to verify existing installations, gather information, and troubleshoot design issues.
  • Communication:Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure the successful integration of systems into the overall building design.

Qualifications

  • Education:A diploma, technical certificate, or bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or a related engineering field is often required.
  • Experience:A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in plumbing and fire protection drafting.
  • Software Skills:Strong proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Technical Knowledge:A deep understanding of plumbing systems, fire protection systems, building codes, and relevant engineering standards.
  • Skills:Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to read and interpret technical documents.
