Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced VMC/HMC Programmer to program and support CNC Vertical and Horizontal Machining Centres . The ideal candidate should be proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, using CAM software, and optimizing CNC programs to produce high-quality, precision components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • CNC Programming:
  • Create and edit programs for VMC (Vertical Machining Centers) and HMC (Horizontal Machining Centers) using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam).
  • Optimize tool paths for efficient machining and cycle time reduction.
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds based on material and geometry.
  • Drawing Interpretation:
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and part specifications.
  • Identify potential issues or design improvements related to manufacturability.
  • Machine Setup & Support:
  • Provide setup sheets and instructions for machine operators.
  • Assist in machine setup, tool loading, and first-article inspection when needed.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and modify programs as required.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Work closely with design, quality, and production teams to improve machining processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Quality Control:
  • Ensure machined components meet tolerance, surface finish, and dimensional requirements.
  • Collaborate with the quality team for in-process and final inspections.

Qualifications:

  • ITI / Diploma / Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in CNC programming for VMC/HMC machines.
  • Hands-on experience with CAM software and G-code editing.
  • Familiarity with 3-axis and 4-axis machining; 5-axis is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, tooling, and fixture design.
