Summary

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy of financial records, compliance with statutory requirements, and providing financial insights to support business decision-making. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and leadership qualities to guide junior accountants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory filings.
  • Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, vendor accounts, and inter-company transactions.
  • Handle GST, TDS, and other statutory returns, ensuring timely submissions.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Monitor internal controls, identify process improvements, and implement best practices.
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing training and support.
  • Support management with financial analysis and ad-hoc reports.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / CA Inter / CMA Inter (preferred).
  • Experience: 58 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in [industry, e.g., manufacturing/trading/service].
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and statutory compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, ERP systems) and MS Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
