Job Summary:

The Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for manufacturing heat exchangers, including shell & tube, plate, and air-cooled types. This role involves analyzing customer specifications, developing technical proposals, preparing detailed cost breakdowns, and supporting the sales and project teams during the bidding and execution phases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret RFQs, technical specifications, and engineering drawings provided by clients.
  • Conduct cost estimation for the fabrication of heat exchangers, including material, labour, machining, testing, painting, and transportation.
  • Coordinate with design, procurement, and production teams to collect relevant data and validate costing assumptions.
  • Prepare detailed techno-commercial proposals, bid documents, and costing sheets.  Ensure estimates comply with industry codes and standards such as ASME.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate materials (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel, exotic alloys) based on design requirements and customer specifications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in cost estimation or project engineering within the pressure vessel or heat exchanger manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes, welding, machining, NDT, and materials used in heat exchanger manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and estimation software/tools.
  • Familiarity with ASME Section VIII and other relevant standards.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and time management skills
