Senior Accountant

This role will be responsible for managing core accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and supporting continuous process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general ledger accounting, month-end close, audits, and tax support, with prior exposure to U.S. accounting practices. Experience in the biotech or life sciences industry is desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and review month-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare audit schedules and collaborate with external auditors during interim and annual audits.
- Assist with tax filings, regulatory reporting, and ad hoc requests for tax support.
- Identify and support process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting operations and enhance reporting accuracy.
- Mentor and review the work of staff accountants, providing coaching and guidance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a public company or life sciences/biotech environment.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting best practices.
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems and advanced proficiency in Excel.
