About the role
At Tesco, our
Network Security Architecture team
plays a
critical role in safeguarding the foundational layer of our digital ecosystem, the
network transport layer. This layer underpins every application and system we
operate, making its security essential to our business resilience.
We are looking for a
skilled and proactive Network Security Engineer II
to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring,
analysing, and responding to security events across diverse environments and geographies.
You will also engage in proactive threat hunting to identify and mitigate risks
before they impact our operations.
As part of a
collaborative and cross-functional cybersecurity team, you will leverage your
expertise to assess network-related threats and vulnerabilities. You'll work
closely with infrastructure teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of
identified issues, contributing to Tesco's overall security posture.
You will be responsible for

these specific risk responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyse network
security events across multiple platforms and locations.
- Investigate and respond to
incidents, escalating where appropriate.
- Conduct proactive threat
hunting to identify emerging risks.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity
and infrastructure teams to assess and mitigate network vulnerabilities.
- Contribute to the continuous
improvement of network security monitoring and response processes.
You will need
Technical
Proficiency

Hands-on problem-solving and
critical thinking skills.

Comprehensive understanding of
network engineering principles, with a strong grasp of how security controls
are integrated to mitigate evolving cyber threats.
Data Analysis
·
Proven analytical skills of
large complex structured and unstructured datasets using query languages.

Proficiency in scripting and
processing tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Excel) for analysis, task
automation, and workflow improvements.
Communication and Collaboration
·
Strong written and verbal
skills to produce tailored intelligence products for all levels.

Collaborating with the shared
pursuit of securing the business, whilst fostering trust and belief in each
other.
