Job Title: Tooling Manager/ Sr. Mold Design Engineer (CATIA)

Location: Pune

Department: Tooling / Product Engineering

Reports To: Engineering Head

Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop 2D and 3D mold components, assemblies, and complete tool designs using
    CATIA V5/V6
    .
  • Collaborate with product design and tooling teams to ensure design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles are met.
  • Analyze product geometry for parting lines, draft angles, undercuts, and gate locations.
  • Create detailed mold layout drawings, core and cavity designs, cooling circuits, ejector systems, and bill of materials (BOM).
  • Conduct design reviews with international customers on daily basis and make necessary modifications to meet performance, quality, and cost targets.
  • Maintain design documentation (End of Arm Study, Feasibility Report Generation), revision control, and ensure compliance with customer standards.
  • Continuously improve mold design processes, introducing innovative solutions for tooling efficiency and longevity.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Diploma
    in Tool & Die making
    (NTTF, Indo German Tool Room, CIPET),
    Tool Design, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience
    in mold design (injection molding).
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6
    (Part Design, Assembly Design, Surface Design, Drafting, and Mold Tooling Design workbenches).
  • Strong understanding of plastic materials, mold construction, and manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, DFM, DFA, and can run mold design operations using macros.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple international projects and meet deadlines under minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with North American mold design standards

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with
    Catia
    is an asset.
  • Exposure to
    automotive, consumer goods,
    and tooling industries.
