OT Nurse

Pre-Operative Duties:

• Prepare the operating room with necessary equipment and supplies.
• Verify patient identity, surgical procedure, and consent.
• Assist with patient positioning and draping.
• Monitor patient condition and report any changes to the surgeon or anaesthetist.

Intra-Operative Duties:

• Assist surgeons during procedures by handing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
• Monitor and record patient vitals and surgical activities.
• Manage surgical instruments, sponges, and sharps.
• Ensure all items are accounted for during and after surgery.

Post-Operative Duties:

• Assist in patient recovery and transfer to recovery or ICU.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions to anaesthesia or complications.
• Document post-operative care and observations.

General Responsibilities:

• Adhere to infection control and sterilization protocols.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing records.
• Participate in regular training and continuing education.
• Support junior staff and contribute to team development.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (GNM/ B.Sc. Nursing)
• License/Certification: Registered Nurse (RN) license from appropriate regulatory body
• Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of OT experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and aseptic techniques
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
