This role is responsible for developing solutions to provide fault, automation, reporting, dashboards, performance and configuration management for a large scale telephony environment, leveraging a combination of internal development, vendor software, and open source tools. ResponsibilitiesAdvances and enhances tools features and functions of our current tools and solutionsAddresses challenges of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platform integrationPerforms demonstrations of the tools to current and prospective customers in conjunction with sales of maintenance and managed servicesParticipates in Continuous Improvement initiatives to ensure process documentation remains relevantIdentifies and recommends new tools that will automate/streamline existing tools and processesCodes and tests new tools in accordance with industry standardsLaunches new tools and provide ongoing monitoring and supportCommunicates and coordinates with Development, QA, and user-baseEstablishes and documents requirements with internal customers then developing and validating the solutionDevelops installation and configuration procedures for new toolsAnalyzes, scopes, and documents new tool requirementsCustom Web Dashboard development HTML 5 webdesignQualificationsBachelors of Science in Computer Science, System Administration or equivalent5+ years in software development/scripting2+ years background in telecommunications or data network maintenance and/or monitoringExperience with software testing in multiple environments including test planning, control, execution, and quality assessmentApplication development experience in large scale environments(minimum of 5,000 user environments)Expert level in Linux and network skillsProgramming experience (OO languages like Java or Python and Structured programming such as C ) and principles of various programming languagesStrong understanding of SNMP monitoring technologiesWorking knowledge of Networking protocols and firewall configurationExceptional, definable leadership experience with proven results   Ability to communicate (orally and written) clearly and effectively in EnglishStrong analytical , interpersonal, and relationship building skillsStrong sense of urgency and commitment  to get the job done personal drive to excel  Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsExceptional organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to analyze, use (and learn new) complex systems, technologies, and applicationsAbility to adapt to change quickly and multi-task Desired/Preferred QualificationsNOSQL querying and scripting experience Expertise with opensource monitoring and analytics tools (like ELK stacks, Nagios, OpenNMS)Experience with "big data" systems, such as Cassandra, Hadoop, MongoDB, etc.Experience with search systems (e.g., Lucene, Elasticsearch)3 or more years of experience with logging analysis tools and syslog (Syslog-NG/Rsyslog or Splunk)Additional InformationWork EnvironmentAbility to handle multiple priorities and demands in a fast-paced environment.
