- Overall purpose of role To work and resolve technical problems in Linux/AIXs and work on project tasks (JIRAs, incident, Change) Liaise with other support teams to address the internal support teams issues as well as understand the business requirements and share and adopt best practices being followed. Key Accountabilities Act as technical first point of contact internally and externally for stakeholder requirements through JIRA requests and change tasks, technical calls etc. Promote the use of Technical Standards, Procedures and Best Practice and maximize the use of toolsets and automation. Stakeholder Management and Leadership Manage stakeholder expectations in JIRA communication and team calls Provide regular update on critical requirements Decision-making and Problem Solving Prompt problem solving ability Quick decision making ability to tackle project related issues Provide permanent resolution to problem tickets Adopt, develop and promote automation Person Specification Bachelor degree in technology with working experience in Unix Must be RedHat Certified and ITIL Foundation certified Working experience over 6 years in a fast paced UNIX environment. Excellent communication and articulation skill Ability to drive interaction with senior stakeholders Comfortable to work in APAC/EMEA and weekend shift Unix Administration and troubleshooting skills, clear concepts of LVM, User Management Operating system. Troubleshooting on filesystem user access related issues. Deep understanding of UNIX OS Troubleshooting on various UNIX OS Issue Knowledge of automation, Chef, Powerbroker technologies AWS / cloud knowledge would be added advantage Experience in Remote troubleshooting and diagnosis of UNIX issues. Work with vendors like Linux Oracle in coordinating hardware/software issues Build, configuration and troubleshooting experience of Veritas volume manger and Veritas cluster and veritas volume Replicator Basic Tivoli Storage Manager Client administration able to trouble shoot backup failures remediate the same. Good understanding of Network Connectivity and protocols with respect to the UNIX platform Exposure on ticketing tools like Service Now Understanding experience working on DNS, FTP NFS. Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications: Engineering graduate with 6-8 years of experience in supporting enterprise Unix environment Excellent knowledge of build , configuration and troubleshooting of Veritas volume manager, Veritas cluster and VVR RedHat Linux and ITIL foundation certified Named Job Posting?
