DevOps Engineer Specialist

We are looking for candidates with a genuine desire and drive to deliver top technology solutions to today's markets.The DevOps Engineer is responsible for the design, development, testing, automation, and operation of the infrastructure and technical implementations supporting the company's solutions, as well as the development process by which those solutions are engineered. DevOps Engineers will work together and with other engineering teams to deliver high quality solutions to clients.

As DevOps Engineer Specialist your primary focus will be on monitoring, answering support calls and providing resolution to production issues for the applications during the US night hours. Your secondary responsibility will be to contribute to the development and infrastructural improvements of the covered applications. In this role you will facilitate teamwork between software development and IT operations teams to streamline software delivery and infrastructure changes. Key responsibilities encompass answering support calls and providing resolution to urgent production issues, with hands-on expertise in process automation, infrastructure management through code, and the establishment of continuous integration and deployment pipelines. The crucial proficiencies include automation tools, cloud services, software development practices, and system administration techniques, ensuring efficient and reliable operation of modern IT environments. Additional critical proficiencies will include software development, building microservices, RESTful API and browser-based user interfaces. Besides working closely with your colleagues in Mumbai you will also work closely with Nasdaq teams in other countries. 

Role Responsibilities - 

• Develop infrastructure and software solutions in accordance with standards and practices.

• Work with architects to capture requirements and develop solutions for new projects.

• Streamlines and automates IT Operations & Processes

• Work with engineering teams to invent development processes for new projects.

• Identify, prescribe solutions and implement remediation as the need arises by InfoSec findings.

• Serve as knowledge resource for advice and mentorship on technical issues, both internally to the DevOps team and externally to other engineering teams.

• Maintain infrastructure, repair bugs, and respond to downtime in accordance with business continuity plan.

• Provide support for software engineering teams.

• Conduct all business in accordance with policies and procedures.

We expect you to have: (Minimum Qualifications)

• At least 6+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer, with contributions to software development. 
• Java programming experience is a must. 
• AWS experience. 
• Terraform expertise. 
• CI/CD pipeline experience. 
• Containers expertise (Docker and Kubernetes). 
• Basic SQL knowledge. 
• Proficiency in programming languages, such as Java, Kotlin, Python, HTML, React JS. 
• Proficiency with Linux commands and utilities including Bash scripting. 
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills that enable you to troubleshoot and resolve sophisticated issues. 
• Good communication and collaboration skills that enable you to work well with developers, stakeholders, and users. 
• Passion for learning new technologies and staying updated with industry trends that help you improve your skills and knowledge. 
• Creativity and innovation in creating solutions that meet user needs and expectations and deliver value to the business. 
• Attention to detail and quality assurance to ensure your software products are of high quality and meet the standards and requirements.

Education Qualification:

• Degree qualified in a discipline related to Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience. 

A Plus

• Knowledge of Equities trading 

• Experience with real-time, high-throughput applications. 

• Understanding of data lakes and data-warehousing. 

• Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, Kafka, relational database.  

• Build tools: Maven and Git. 

• Java Frameworks (Keycloak, OpenSearch). 

• JSON, RESTful web-services and Microservices. 

• Web-security skills: SAML, encryption, certificates, web attack protection. 

• JUnit, automated testing and test-driven development experience.
