Role description
Job Title: Data Engineer – Azure Platform

Experience: 5 to 9 years

Location: Any UST Location (Hybrid Mode)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Mandatory Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering / Analytics, with at least 2+ years working primarily on Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong expertise in SQL – writing, optimizing, and managing complex queries.

  • Hands-on experience with key Azure Data Services, including:

  • Azure Data Factory (ADF)

  • Azure SQL
  • Azure Data Lake
  • Azure Databricks
  • Experience with data visualization tools – preferably Power BI.

  • Solid understanding of:

  • Data modeling

  • Data warehousing
  • ETL processes
  • Database management and optimization.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and manage scalable data pipelines using ADF and Databricks.
  • Integrate and transform large datasets across multiple sources into Azure Data Lake and Azure SQL environments.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for business consumption.
  • Ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability of data architecture.
  • Apply best practices for ETL design, data governance, and data quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, business analysts, and cloud engineers across projects.
  • Monitor and optimize data workflows for performance and cost-efficiency.
Nice to Have
  • Microsoft Certification (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate).
  • Experience with DevOps, Git, and CI/CD for data workflows.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum project methodologies.
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance standards in cloud environments.
