Job Summary:

The Senior Billing Operator is responsible for managing all billing and cash counter activities in a retail store, ensuring accurate billing, efficient transaction handling, and smooth customer experience. The role involves supervising junior billing staff, maintaining cash reports, and ensuring adherence to company billing and accounting policies.

  • Key Responsibilities:Handle daily billing operations and ensure accuracy in all customer transactions.
  • Manage and reconcile cash, card, UPI, and other digital payment modes at the end of each shift.
  • Supervise billing team members, assign counter duties, and ensure smooth billing flow during peak hours.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies for discounts, returns, and refunds.
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly billing and sales reports.
  • Coordinate with inventory and sales teams to ensure price accuracy and stock updates in the billing system.
  • Train new billing staff on POS systems and customer interaction standards.
  • Handle customer queries related to billing discrepancies or payment issues.
  • Support store operations during audits and stock verifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order at the billing counter area.
  • Key Skills & Competencies:Strong knowledge of POS systems and billing software (e.g., Tally, Ginesys, Retail Pro, etc.)
  • Accuracy in billing and handling large cash transactions
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Leadership and team supervision ability
  • Time management and attention to detail
  • Problem-solving and conflict-handling skills
  • Qualification & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in retail billing or cashier operations (at least 1–2 years in a senior or supervisory role).
  • Experience in fashion, optical, electronics, or supermarket retail preferred.
  • Work Schedule:Full-time, 10am-8 pm timings
  • Salary Range:Based on experience and company norms.
