About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced API Specialist to design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable APIs that enable seamless integration across various systems and applications. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that APIs are secure, efficient, and aligned with business needs. You will collaborate with development teams, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality API solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and/or SOAP APIs that are secure, scalable, and performant.
  • Define API specifications, documentation, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with frontend, backend, and mobile development teams to ensure smooth integration.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot API performance, availability, and security issues.
  • Implement API security measures such as authentication, authorization, and rate limiting.
  • Work closely with DevOps teams to automate API deployment and versioning.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide guidance on API design and implementation.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in API development and integration.
  • Support API lifecycle management, including deprecation and version control.
  • Participate in the evaluation and adoption of API management tools and platforms.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with GraphQL APIs.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of message brokers and event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Certifications related to API design or cloud technologies.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
