Retail Gemologist

Key Responsibilities:

1. Diamond & Gemstone Evaluation

• Inspect and authenticate diamonds, gemstones, solitaires, and studded jewellery.
• Verify 4Cs: Cut, Clarity, Color, Carat and prepare quality grading.
• Check certification details, hallmarking, and product quality standards.

2. Customer Interaction

• Support sales team by explaining technical details to customers.
• Educate customers on diamond quality, gemstone benefits, certification, and pricing.
• Assist in building trust and improving conversion rates during sales discussions.

3. Inventory & Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of graded jewellery.
• Ensure proper tagging, certification, and QC before products go on display.
• Assist in stock audits, daily QC checks, and inward/outward documentation.

4. Store Operations

• Support store team with product displays and visual merchandising for diamond counters.
• Ensure products are displayed safely and meet brand standards.
• Report any quality issues or discrepancies immediately to management.

5. Compliance & Standards

• Follow Tanishq/Titan SOPs for gemstone handling and diamond processes.
• Maintain grooming, ethics, and security standards at all times.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Graduate or Diploma in Gemology (GIA/IGI/IIGJ preferred).
• 13 years of experience in jewellery retail or gemology field.
• Strong knowledge of diamonds, gemstones, solitaires, and QC processes.
• Good communication skills and customer-handling ability.
• Eye for detail and accuracy in grading.
