QA professionals engage during feature planning and design discussions, they gain a deeper understanding of the intended functionality, edge cases, and potential risks. This early collaboration allows QA to influence testability considerations, identify automation opportunities, and ensure that the software architecture supports efficient testing. It also fosters a shared ownership of quality, where developers and QA work together to prevent defects rather than simply detect them after the fact.

Developing automated tests in alignment with development objectives ensures that testing efforts directly support business and technical goals. Rather than creating tests in isolation, QA candidates should design automation suites that validate the most critical user journeys, performance requirements, and integration points. This approach ensures that automated testing is not just a technical exercise but a strategic tool for delivering value. By aligning test coverage with development priorities, QA can help teams release features confidently, knowing that the most important functionality is continuously validated.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience: 3-6 years in quality engineering, with hands-on experience in automation and scripting.

Programming: Strong proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.

¢ API Testing: Solid experience in testing RESTful APIs and using tools like Postman, Swagger, or similar.

¢ SQL Proficiency: Experience with SQL Server, SQL, and query languages for database validation.

¢ Data Pipeline Validation: Familiarity with validating data integrity and quality in data pipelines, particularly within Snowflake.

¢ Frameworks: Experience in building and working with test automation frameworks (e.g., Pytest, Robot Framework, Selenium with Python).

¢ Testing Lifecycle: Strong knowledge of software testing principles, methodologies, and tools.

¢ Problem Solving: Ability to analyse use cases and determine appropriate regression test cases.

¢ Tools: Experience with version control systems (Git), defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA), and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

¢ Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Python for scripting and automation.
  • API Testing, SQL
  • Test automation frameworks (e.g., Pytest, Robot Framework, Selenium with Python).
  • Experience with version control systems (Git), defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA), and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).

Good to Have:

  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with cloud environments and testing APIs hosted on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
