Role & responsibilities

As a Senior Database Administrator, you'll be a hands-on leader overseeing our critical data infrastructure across MySQL or PostgreSQL environments.

We are looking for candidates who can work on the following tasks from any one of the below database technologies

a) MySQL

b) PostgreSQL

  • Install and configure Database software on dierent Operating systems.
  • Ability to create an ecient physical database design from a logical data model and application specifications.
  • Configure the Database Servers as per the best practice and Workloads.
  • Setup and Implement robust backup and recovery procedures.
  • Implement an appropriate database backup and recovery strategy based on data volatility and application availability requirements.
  • Configure Security for databases (from Os level, Database, Network).
  • Ensure that only authorized users have access to data. This requires the implementation of a rigorous security infrastructure for production and test databases. And a database auditing capability to document compliance.
  • Fine tune the Hardware/VM for better performance.
  • Able to proactively monitor the database environment and to make changes to data structures, SQL, application logic or the DBMS subsystem to optimize performance.
  • Setup replication (Master-Slave/Master-Master/Log shipping/Mirroring/Alwayson)
  • Automate the daily DBA tasks using Shell/PowerShell/Python/GO.
  • Writing SQL queries (General queries).
  • Setup monitoring for Databases (OS and Database level) with custom scripts or any third party monitoring tool.

Preferred candidate profile

Is Education overrated? Yes. We believe so. But there is no way to locate you otherwise.

So we might look for at least a Bachelors or Master's degree in engineering from a

reputed institute or you should be programming from 12. And the latter is better. We will find you faster if you specify the later in some manner.

To reiterate: Passion to tech-awesome, insatiable desire to learn the latest of the new-age cloud tech, highly analytical aptitude and a strong desire to deliver outlives those fancy degrees

  • 5-9 years experience in Cloud Database Administration
  • Proficient in MySQL or PostgreSQL database management, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL and managing databases in cloud environments.
  • Proficient in MySQL or PostgreSQL database management, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Proven experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on MySQL or PostgreSQL.
  • In-depth knowledge of database design, implementation, and management for either MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Familiarity with database security, backup procedures, and performance tuning for both systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Relevant certifications are a plus.
